CRKT 1105 Endorser Razor Edge Knife

I got this knife based on its appearance and size mainly. Plus a good price and past experience with CRKT knives.

I have pretty large hands (Becker BK2 is comfortable for me). So I was a little worried by the comments about this being too small even for medium hands. Now that I have it, I have to wonder what those commentors were using it for. If you are looking for a fairly compact pocket knife that is light, maneuverable and easy to hold, this works great. While it doesn't fill my fist, it doesn't need to.

I read some reviews that state that the blade is too small, or too fine for EDC. I have to say there are probably as many different knife styles as there are uses for knives, and rarely will one knife handle all tasks for anyone. One reviewer stated it looked more like a "lady's dagger", not for real men. I guess he'd be happy if his doctor used his tactical tanto on his next surgery instead of a scalpel? For my EDC uses, this one is perfect. The fine blade and point work well for what I need a knife for. If I need something heavier, I'll grab another tool.

CONs:

black finish - hard to imagine this will keep looking nice through years of carry and use, but we'll see. I know there is a satin silver blade version, but the handles are still black on that one.

FireSafe assisted opening - works well when you get it right. I had to loosen the screw slightly before it worked reliably. Using your thumb to push the blade away from the knife (pushing at right angle) will only open it partially, leaving your thumb resting on the sharp edge. I found that pushing the thumb stud in line with the knife (moving in parallel to the knife) works well, ending up with my thumb resting on the handle scale. But still, I have to conciously pay attention every time I open it, which isn't something I can always do.
Overall, good knife at a good price. 4 out of 5 stars.
