couldnt wait to open the box,not every day i recieve a tool of this calibre.an axe,a rangefinder,an angle gauge a sundial,awesome!!! all that and its american made ! ron hood is smiling down at earth knowing he left such a good tool as a part of his legacy.

Love mt ATAX

The Atax is an amazing tool.
I love that they give you an in depth cd to all of it's features.
The atax is not the only tool I'd bring with me, and it even says it's designed to be a back up, or secondary tool to another knife, so this has to be kept in mind when buying one.

It is extremely well made, and I have put a pounding to it, and it has performed flawlessly, and held up extremely well. The steel and heat treat are well done, as well as the coating.

It is a well thought out design, with great features, even if you won't use them all.
It's expensive to be sure, but you get what you pay for.
