Bark River Mini Canadian CPM 3V Knife Natural Elder Burl #1 (USA)
Bark River Mini Canadian CPM 3V Knife Natural Elder Burl #1 (USA)
Whether caping a whitetail or using and as EDC knife the Mini-Canadian is built to excel. Stout and tough (2.2" cutting length with a .125 thickness - yes, it's a beefy little guy!) the MC Rockwells out at 58rc and has a weight of only 2.5 ounces allowing it to be carried anywhere at any time. What good is a knife if you don't carry it with you?
The 3V Mini Canadian comes standard with the Bushcraft E leather sheath and also works very well in the Dakota Leather Killdeer Sheath.
The blade is made from CPM 3V steel, a tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. It is very hard to break, and also retains its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by stropping it.
Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. The knife you receive may therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
