Guardian Tactical RECON-040 is the top-of-the-line and state of the art OTF automatic. This is the latest RECON model that is built with a black anodized handle and a stonewashed drop point blade and clip.

Guardian Tactical's patented OTF mechanism provides smooth, responsive opening action. The unique thumb slide design is separated from the aluminum handle by a steel plate and 3 ceramic balls that eliminate grinding and wear. An innovative locking mechanism sits off to the side of the blade channel so it doesn't drag against the blade when opening and closing. BEAST of an OTF

This guy is a monster, have had a few Microtechs, and Protechs over the years but would sell or trade because my state wouldn't let me carry. Well as of 01/02/23 PA legalized carry of automatic knives. So I wanted one that I could work with, and this is perfect. I've got XXL glove sized hands and this guy fits perfectly in my hand, and pocket. And the blade isn't some skinny, dinky, little guy but thick enough, and broad enough to get some work done.

Large as it should be

Love the knife owned an 035 it was slick with no jimping so released it. This one came sharp and jimping where you need it for control, comfortable switch which is unheard of.

It is a little bigger than all other otf’s and six ounces is heavy but the 035 is too short with no jimping to grip the knife. Only improvement I would make would be a tanto blade or front switch or both. D
