Released in 2023, the MSI (Microtech Standard Issue) is Microtech's first knife to feature its fantastic RAM-LOK technology. This tough take on the crossbar lock features Microtech's signature step pattern made famous by the actuation switches on the Ultratech series. The large blade cutout gives ample room for reverse middle finger flicks as well as standard slow-roll thumb opening with or without gloves. If neither of those is your preference, then simply pull down on the RAM-LOK and the blade flies open with a simple wrist flick. The injection molded handles are smooth and slightly tacky, providing great grip potential in both standard and reverse grips. Rugged, durable, extremely high-value, and made in the USA; we know that the MSI is going to quickly become a fan favorite among all members of the knife community.

Great take on the axis style lock

The coil spring implementation of Microtech's axis style lock feels much more solid than omega springs, and whatever plastic they're using feels very good in the hand. The texturing isn't as aggressive as on some of the ultratechs with similar patterns and is much nicer on the pocket. Blade is fantastic. Just spent all day moving into a new house and used it for all kinds of weird tasks. Sailed through everything I put in its way. Great knife. I just wish that they had it in a more compact 3 to 3.5in blade version. It's kind of huge for what it's trying to accomplish.
