Zero Tolerance Dmitry Sinkevich 0460 Flipper 3.25" S35VN Two-Tone Blade, Bronze Carbon Fiber and Titanium Handles

The Zero Tolerance 0450CF, designed by Dmitry Sinkevich, is one of ZT’s top-selling knives. But some knife users have been asking for a little more—a little more size, a little more handle curve, a little more carbon fiber, a little more Sinkevich. ZT's answer? The new 0460.

In size, it’s slightly larger than the 0450, but not as large as the 0452CF. The blade steel is S35VN for enhanced toughness and resistance to edge chipping with no loss of wear resistance. Rich in niobium, vanadium, and chromium carbides, it enables a sharp, long-lasting edge. For sharp looks, ZT gives the blade a two-tone finish: stonewashed on the flats and satin on the grinds.

Based on Dmitry’s Polychotky Jr., the 0460’s carbon-fiber-and-titanium handle has a pronounced ergonomic curve to fit into the hollow of the hand neatly. The front scale is bronze carbon fiber. This relatively recently developed composite material offers the benefits of carbon fiber, but with the ability to colorize the material as well—in the case of the 0460, the color is an attractive bronze. We partially 3D machined the front handle for dimensionality and grip as well.

The handle back is titanium with a titanium frame lock and hardened steel lockbar insert. A matte black anodized aluminum backspacer adds a handsome decorative touch. The black Teflon®-coated pocketclip lets you carry the ZT comfortably every day.

Nice shape and high quality

I do like this knife. The blade is great but the carbon fiber handle does feel sort of toy-ish. Maybe will purchase if they come out with a titanium handle version of this.

Functional Art

You either love the design or you hate it. There is no in between. I happen to fall into the first category.
I like the fact that it doesn't look like anything else out there. It fits in my hand perfectly. It is lightweight. It uses first rate materials and premium steel S35VN. The KVT ball bearings allow the blade to be deployed effortlessly.
The carbon fiber scales are a bronze color, and the pattern give the appearance of scales. In fact, when you look at the knife when it is open, it has a serpentine air to it that reminds me of a rattlesnake.
There have been complaints of some people having difficulty opening the knife because the flipper tab is too small or requiring too much pressure to deploy the blade. Do not let this turn you off. The problem is that most people rest their middle finger on the lock bar. This puts pressure on the blade, thus, increasing the amount of pressure required to release it. If you place the finger on the groove next to the pocket clip, the blade flies out.
This is now my EDC. I love everything about it.

Great little knife, but not perfect

The shape is really compelling. As other have mentioned this is a work of art. The size is great as a gentleman's EDC. It's very light weight and disappears in a pocket. Machining is excellent. There are no visible flaws. Lockup is at about 40%. The blade is nicely centered.

The only downside I see is that the flipper is very tight. I like to flip-play with my knives. This one, unfortunately, is VERY tight. It hurts my index finger. The good news is that I trust this knife to stay closed unless I decide to open it - needed with tip-up carry.

After playing around with it, The tight opening can be broken in by putting pressure on the frame lock bar and repeatedly opening and closing the knife using your hand, not the flipper. It's considerably better now.
