Bark River Knives Aurora Fixed 4.75" A2 Knife, Black Canvas Micarta

Bark River specializes in cutting tools for outdoorsmen and others who need real performance in the field. They use a blend of traditional/contemporary designs and styles to get a product that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also ultra-functional.

The Aurora has been designed as an Ideal Bushcraft Knife. Bark River took over two years to develop and test the knife by making a number of prototypes and putting the prototypes in the hands of experienced bushcrafters and outdoorsman in the North America, Europe, and the U.K. They took that input and further refined the design to its final form. The handle is 100% ergonomic for use in the hand in any common grip while using the knife as a working tool. The point is in line for drilling and the overall balance of the knife is neutral so it does not favor the handle or the blade in use. You will find it to be one of the most useful tools made today for serious outdoor use in wilderness living and wilderness survival.

Impressive. Worth every penny

I think this is the ultimate in bushcraft / utility hard use knife. The A2 tool steel blade with its convex edge came out of the box redonkulously sharp! I believe you can not get a more ergonomic grip for such a knife. The OD green handle coupled with its high grade leather sheath makes a beautiful pair. When you grasp the handle you know this is a very high quality knife. It's 7" blade is ideal for batoning. I really appreciate the fact you can store the retainer snap by tucking it behind a purpose built feature when in-sheathing this monster. If not for this feature you'd eventually slice off the retention strap. Just handling this knife made me plan my next trip to the woods.
