The sleek, the Benchmade Nimravus signifies Benchmade's first fixed blade offering in several years. The Nimravus was styled by designer Allen Elishewitz to appeal to Benchmade customers who wanted a lot of the same features, materials and styling traditionally found with Benchmade folders except in a fixed blade format. As you can see it has a very good utility blade shape, and will perform equally well in a diverse selection of uses. Although not a geometric Tanto shape, this modern tip design is among the strongest configurations available today.

The 4.5" full-tang blade is ground from 154CM stainless steel and features a false edge that lightens the blade without sacrificing tip strength. The Blades are BK1 coated - Benchmade's proprietary blade coating offering excellent corrosion resistance, which exceeds the ASTM-117 specification for saltwater corrosion resistance. BK1 is a poly-ceramic coating (a blend of polymers and ceramic). It's thinner than the previous blade coating BT2, has equal to or better corrosion resistance (exceeding the ASTM salt spray standard) and unlike BT2 has much better wear resistance due to the ceramic. Additionally they have integrated a series of positive indexing notches in the spine for sure-grip blade control.

One of the most important features of any fixed blade should be the sheath, and this one is no exception. The sheath may also be carried inside, or outside, the waistband. The versatility of the knife and its sheath design allows for carry and use in nearly any application that warrants a tough, mid-sized fixed blade.

High-quality Tactical Blade

I carry a fixed blade for my everyday carry knife (EDC) and the Benchmade Nimravus is great. It is made in the USA of high-end steel. It arrived sharp and in perfect condition. The sheath fits it perfectly and can be worn several ways. The design and balance of the knife is outstanding. It is guaranteed for life by Benchmade. If you want the best quality and a lifetime knife, get a Benchmade.

Solid Knife!

This knife has some of the best ergonomics I have seen. It slides effortlessly into your hand and feels great! Perfect for just about any task, my only complaint is the sheath. It doesnt come with any way to fasten it to Molle webbing. It has webbing on the sheath itself, but no straps or fasteners to attatch it

Its awesome!

The beauty of this knife is its functionality in so many ways. I was a bit concerned about its size, probably one of the smaller fixed blade knifes I have but this is actually its strength. Being a smaller blade I take it everywhere I go so this knife gets the most use. Also, being smaller it opens its options to doing many other jobs rather than battening firewood.

The knife is of the highest quality and is evident when first taken out of its box. It really is a well made and well thought out knife and became my everyday carry because its so usable.

This is the Mercedes of knives, I would not buy this knife as a heavy utility knife, get a Ontario RAT for that type of exercise. Rather get this knife for EDC and doing jobs that dont require prying or cutting firewood although it can do these jobs per many youtube videos.

I could go on for another 300 words but ill sum up by saying just buy it, it needs to be in your collection for so many reasons. You won't regret it and it will become your favourite knife.
