DESCRIPTION

From the streets of Buenos Aires to the foothills of the Andes, Osprey’s Farpoint 70 is ready for anything. Go ahead and fill it up with heavy mountain gear. The LightWire™ frame suspension transfers the load from harness to hipbelt. A mesh backpanel improves ventilation and the mesh on the harness and hipbelt reduces chafing under load. The entire suspension stows away under a zippered panel creating a sleek silhouette for transport.

Unzip the lockable sliders to access the main compartment. Inside there’s a mesh pocket for small items. Dual compression straps keep cargo from shifting during transit.

Outside you’ll find a zippered front panel slash pocket to keep you organized and sewn attachment points to lash on extra gear. No matter how much you choose to carry, StraightJacket™ compression straps stabilize the load.

The main Farpoint 70 pack comes with a detachable Farpoint day pack, perfect for use on trips to the local market or to recon your route from the high ridge above base camp.

Farpoint Daypack - This daypack is designed to attach to Farpoint 70 and 55. The comfortable reverse spacer mesh harness stows away when not in use. The main compartment has designated laptop and tablet sleeves and a scratch-free stash pocket to protect eyewear. Zipper pulls on the main compartment are lockable to secure your gear.

Almost perfect

I love absolutely everything about this bag except for the following:

1.) I wish Osprey would have made the day pack a 25L bag, and the main pack 45L. The day pack is VERY tight on space yet the main is absolutely cavernous. A little more balance between the two in terms of volume would have suited me better.
2.) I wish there was more organization in both bags. There is nothing (pocket wise) on the outside of the main bag, but I understand why so I'm not too upset... but put a bit more into the inside at least. As for the day pack, side pockets would have been better than front ones... if you put something in the outside front pocket it eats away at the space inside, as the bag doesn't expand at all.

Otherwise, the bag is easy to carry, well balanced, very adjustable, super functional, and I love the fact that I have the day pack (even if it is a little too small).

When the backpack arrived I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be big enough for my trips, as I am usually on the road for several weeks. However, the backpack fits everything I need, is incredibly comfortable and super practical. I love the daypack as well, very handy. I has several backpacks before and always struggled at the airport with all the strips, usually the backpacks had to be shipped as "bulky luggage" and stored in special bags. With this one there is no problem anymore, you can just store the strips.
